Technical analysis is the study of past price action in order to predict the future direction of a given market. It is applicable to any liquid asset class and over a variety of time-frames (tick to monthly data). As a risk management tool technical analysis provides trading discipline by pinpointing major market trends and key levels; thus aiding the timing of market entry and exit.
